Just a short chime in.I use an old distributor just stripped of all,but the

I have had quite a few people ask me to get Legendary to make the matching
rear panels to go with the front door panels on 70 Javelins. I met with
Legendary, gave them a few examples, and have convinced them to produce the
rear panel. Here is the kicker. We need to get 10 people to purchase front
and rear panels in order for production to begin. The cost will be $410 plus
shipping (all colors except NOS brown) for both front and rear panels. For
those of you who have told me that they will buy new door panels if they
could get a matching rear panel here is your chance. Once ten orders are
placed we are looking at two - three months (per legendary) for completion.
Please contact me if your interested. Payment would be required up front.

WARNING!!!Hey Eddie, Pass this on. There is a 73 401 AMX on ebay that was
under auction number 330050584476 and is now under auction number
330050724895. The seller of this car is not being honest in his listing or
his answers to questions that have been posted. The seller was made ""VERY""
aware of what this car is with no response or change to his listing. This
car was located in the Wisconsin area and was viewed by me and the late
Steve Schall as a possible car to buy. Since this seller has not (and most
likely will not) post the issues with this car to his add. I will do it for
him here. Here is a list of what we found with this car up on viewing it.
Engine IS a 360 not 401, current engine (360)is blown. Floors,trunk,
rockers, outer and inner wheel housing, trunk drops, quarters are rotted.
Top of fenders are on the way out. Troughs are wasted. Sub-frame has rust
issues where floor pans are attached, etc.... rotted, both door glass &
quarter glass broken out. No door tag. Lower door panels have speaker holes
cut into them (you get the idea). Hopefully no one has purchased this car by
the time this gets out. And if it has been sold by the time this is put on
here, Pass the info on and hopefully the buyer sees this. If you are looking
to purchase this car... I would be VERY CAREFUL!!! ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS
and by all means GET PICTURES (if seller is willing to do so...) of all the
above. IF there are any of you AMC guys in IL that can get to this car and
view it (seller has posted a ph# and already gave a guy in Aurora IL a go to
have a look) see if you can get some pictures of the above. Bottom line is
this. IF you feel that a Title, vin tag and 401 fender emblem (and some
other parts)are worth the asking price... go ahead and buy it. If you are
looking to buy this car for a resto project... Look at the list above and
then take a look at the restoration link here on Eddie's page to get a good
idea of what you will be facing. Cheers and good luck to all. Bob in Madison
WI
===========================================
There is/was considerable chatter about this car on several AMC sites, the
car has been relisted now for something like 3rd, possibly 4th time. Check
the feedbacks on this seller and good luck!

We Are Looking For A Chrome Valve Cover For Our 1976 Pacer with A 258 C.I.D.

anyone wishing to comment please feel free to. *Note I bought a set of V8
chrome valve covers off ebay a year ago for something like $24. They were
pieces of sheet. Obviously not intended to take tempchanges from heat/cold,
they started rusting......AFTER 2 MONTHS!!!! I sold the car so don't matter,
but those chrome ones on ebay suck. While not chrome, I bought a aluminum
258 one for my 82 Eagle from Jeff Kennedy at Kennedy American for something
like $90 or so, and it looks great and fits great and well, will never rust!

NEED: NOS or Reproduction fuel tank-1974 AMX 618-234-7272 Ginger Miller
bellcity@xxxxxxxx 618-236-3314
====================================
Anyone with a fuel tank fro sale give them a shout above thanks. I highly
recommend Gas Tank Renu on my VENDORS LIST if your tank is fixable. For
abour $350-$400 they will recoat it, seal it and warranty it. And a used
tank will set one back $250-$500 anyhows and if you get one, you have to
remember it has had chemicals stored in it for decades, so might be same as
what you have, so consider Gas Tank Renu. As for reproductions, none
available. I asked about the possibility of having a run of them done for
the 68-70 AMX and Javelin several yerars ago and this was the reply I got:

"Typically it takes a 600 tank order for something that is not in
production.
Sometimes all they would require is a sample tank to produce them if it is
something they want to add to the line. I sent an email to the R&D
department at the manufacturer. He is on vacation until July 13th. As soon
as we hear something, we will get back to you. Thanks for your inquiry."

Total coast? $210,000. Try Gas Tank Renu.
