Re: [AMC-list] Oil Pressure III

My gauge must be pretty accurate on the MOPAR HV 4.0L. It shows about 73 psi cold. Holds at 37-45 hot.
I know the HV pump is not needed in the 4.0L. However it was new and free, so I used it.

I did pay special attention to polishing all return areas to help the oil get back to the pan.

So far no sign of troubles, even with the 4QT car pan.

Ken,
Interesting...Ill have to check my 72 TSM see if its different. Wonder how they
get to 75 when the pressure relief is set at 60?

1981 TSM says normal is 13psi at 600, 37-75 at 1600+, with a max of 75. I
believe all the later 6s and 8s are the same.  : )
