64-65 196 OHV was Lancelot Turquoise all over, 63 and earlier 196 OHV had a grey block and red head/valve cover. All L-heads were grey all over.

If your doing different colors, I'd lay some masking tape over the top of the 
block.
Then spray it the Gray color.
Paint the head and other assorted items, then wipe down the top of the block and 
put it all back together.
