My lowly 70 Hornet six cylinder see-dan has staggered shocks. Last six
digits of the VIN is 239610, that should somewhat indicate manufactured
age, right?

Is this another one of those 'top of the parts bin' issues? "We had a
lot of spring plates left over"?
