FYI, Not telling you to spend more money or anything like that, and stay with what you know is fine.
We just set up my 77 year old Mother-in-law with a bottom dollar Dell with a 17" flat screen and she is ecstatic! She had a mail station email only machine for years. Decided she was tired of not getting to read attachments or see her grandchildrens emailed pics.
Now she Instant messages all 5 grandchildren most every evening, plays bridge online, window shops and we bought her a decent digital camera and printer for Xmas.
She is beside herself with new things to learn and it really keeps her occupied.
Again, not flaming, just observing the human condition!
I guess Web TV allows you to do most of this too.

The mustangs on the martz Chassis site are good examples off the too small sidewalls on a muscle car! Thats the first thing I saw when I looked their "touring" cars! Too each his own, but they would look better with some rubber showing!
I would not go larger than 16" on most anything, Maybe 17-18" on trucks with larger tires. Most cars no way!

Remember when 15 inch tires all had an amazing array of sizes? It's
become difficult to get matching (different sizes same tread pattern)
staggered sizes anymore, I had no trouble what so ever getting matching
staggered 16s for my Tempest though. Tires that look like light truck
tires don't excite me much (bf goodrich ta for example) I'd rather have
something that looks a bit more interesting, that's most likely my
downfall with the 15's.

I'm slowly, as money allows, putting together the parts for a "hot" engine.
I've been looking at the Edelbrock heads, but am confused as to which
version is appropriate.
They come with or without the heat crossover. I'd think without is what I
want. These will go on either my '70 390 shortblock, or possibly a 401,
although the one I have has some serious problems, and I really need to find
another one most likely.
I have a choice of intakes gathered already: R4B, Torker, Offy 2x4. I favor
the Offy although it would be harder to set up. My "dream" is this engine
cranking minimum 400/400 rear wheel hp/tq, 5 sp (Tremec), and probably 9"
~3.50 ratio in my American. Ought to make a great street machine!
Anyway, what do ya think?

Sounds fabulous! I'd go without heat cross overs they are not needed for a street machine. I'd personally go with the Offy 2x4 intake, that was the leader for my new engine until we decided to go with the ridiculous individual runner sheet metal one we've been working on. Dual quads isn't bad at all to keep tuned, with some decent small carbs you will actually find it fairly forgiving.

Standard bearing. The replacement part is the bearing and pulley
assembly. Jeep Cherokees use something similar. I drove the bearings out
of mine and called a bearing supply with the numbers. Had bearings in a
couple days.

The "idler" on my A/C fanbelt (1983 258 six) is worn, and the
noise indicates immanent failure...
Is that bearing a standard replacement part or do I need to

Finding the parts IS great news! I'm sure things like that have happened
all along, especially for small parts. It's something I expected, but
also expected most to show up a few weeks/months after the car left a
place. I've moved an not been able to find things I know I packed until
months later! And being military, I've had to move the whole household a
few times.
I'm just glad they were good enough to call and say something rather
than just throw the box out. No one would have ever known if they had.
Shows some integrity!

I'm beginning to lose my enthusiasm for Ebay. The inlet chrome for the driver's side that I bought on Ebay doesn't fit. The prongs don't line up with the factory holes.
Why would anyone go to the trouble of getting aftermarket parts made with these kinds of problems?
Anyone out there with a spare left side, I'm a motivated buyer.
