Barts answer: You can build a 258 up buut its gonna cost more and produce
less powere than a

Barts answer:a basic rebuild will porb cost you around 1500$ buut that
depends onthe rebuild,Clifford has a 4v intake for AMC 6s and a holley or
Edelbrock 390 4v cfm carb as for costs look in a 4x4 mag they should have a
thing where you can geta catalog for Jeeps that sell the hi po stuff for AMC
6s i do know MSD just came out with a pro billet dist for AMC 6s

Barts answer: starting in 1966 AMC started making their new thin wall cast
AMC V8s and started with the 290 then in 67 the 343 then 68-69 the 390 with
the square port heads,in 70 they turned the 290 into the 304 and the 343
intothe 360 and the 390 was the same xeptAMC made allt heir V8s with new
dogleg port heads which flowed 50% better thanthe 66-69s your best chance
finding a AMC V8 nowadays is from a Jeep Grand Waggoneer or any Full sized
Jeep and most were the 360 butyou may get lucky and find a 401 outof a FSJ
also look in old IHC trucks their 400 was actually the AMC 401.

Barts answer: what is your trans in it now?and a 904 or 998 will work fine
for your 6 or mild V8
if yours is a 72-78 Grem it mostprob has the Mopar built 904 or 998 if its a
70-71 it has the BW M11? auto which suck ass and aren't worth a damn

Barts answer: your screaming 6 mightfair well withits original rear keep in
mind thatitsonlya AMC model 15rear and their not too strong so if you build a
mild 6 it should be ok a radical one or a V8 then a Mopar 8 3/4 Ford 9inch
or a AMC model 20 8 7/8 s rear

Barts answer: if your gonna go with a Chevy engine get you some life
jackets, mount a propeller in the back get an outboard motor and use the chevy
for a boat anchor and sail the 7seas LOLOL
