[BaadAssGremlins] More floorboard questions

Ok Like i said earlier i have a few pin holes in my floors of my 73 Gremlin.i also want to get all the tar crap coating off of the trans tunnel and basically sand my entire floorboard bare ,treat the rust and hit the whole floor with POR15.would aircraft stripper work on the tar stuff?
