I ahve been driving daily a AMC product since the 1970s, 77 to be exact. 
Just drove up a few minutes ago in Bessie, the 72 Ambasador station wagon as 
she picked up a already made wood crate near a furniture store I found, 
which saves me from kmaking a crate to ship a Borg Warnet T-10 to Florida. 
The kids liked playing in back once I got the crate out. Yesterday I shipped 
out 4 packages, and took the 69 Ambassador SST, boy that thing runs smooth 
and quiet, even went to the Chinese buffet and loaded up on sushi, then went 
and sprayed the undercariage of it to take photos in case anyone interested.

There is not a lot of people who drive AMC's daily anymore. But you could 
pick a lot of other carmakers that their owners don't drive daily. Something 
to ponder: a few years ago I did a check to see how many AMC vehicles were 
legally registerd in Harris county here in Houston. It is estimated there is 
between 5-8 million vehicles. Only 226 AMCs registered. That means street 
legal. Yes some are showcars, but when you count how many are/were daily 
drivers that number drops easily below 30.

Another reason to enjoy driving your AMC.

Charlie it feels good to drive somthing other than the usual cookie
cutter cars that if your wallet is fat enough you can order any repo
part you may need. Part of the thrill of driving an AMC is the hunt for
the parts you need. I spent 2 1/2 years hunting the parts I needed to
re-do my interior. I have parts in the interior from all over the lower
48 state and a few exterior parts from both ends of Canada. The owner of
the shop where I work on my car and does work I am no longer able is
building a modified 69 Firebird with a built 400 small block Chevy
engine. He is not interested in the hunt for parts, he just want's to
open a catalog and give his credit card no# and expect's the parts in
3-5 days. There a a few small repo parts in my interior other than the
carpet but the majority is used parts refurbished or made newparts by me
and new upholstery on the seats.
