Charlie it feels good to drive somthing other than the usual cookie cutter cars that if your wallet is fat enough you can order any repo part you may need. Part of the thrill of driving an AMC is the hunt for the parts you need. I spent 2 1/2 years hunting the parts I needed to re-do my interior. I have parts in the interior from all over the lower 48 state and a few exterior parts from both ends of Canada. The owner of the shop where I work on my car and does work I am no longer able is building a modified 69 Firebird with a built 400 small block Chevy engine. He is not interested in the hunt for parts, he just want's to open a catalog and give his credit card no# and expect's the parts in 3-5 days. There a a few small repo parts in my interior other than the carpet but the majority is used parts refurbished or made newparts by me and new upholstery on the seats. my friend but you never see any of them with there cars out.I have yet to see an AMC (aside from one very old Rambler) at any of the local events here in NE PA. I am told there is some guy with a hot Javelin that lives in my area, but I have never seen the car or him. When I drive about town, I sure do get a lot of looks and thumbs up from folks. ALthough it was rained out, when I pulled into the local cruise on Friday, all necks turned my way. Some guy with a cherry Cobra souped up beyond reason tripped over himself getting to me. I can see that these cars are becoming more and more collectible and less and less available.Charlie
