There's a reason AMC used a 727 behind the 401...and I suspect 
you'll find out real quick when that 401 eats up that 6-cylinder 
tranny. A 904 (found behind 304s) will survive a while behind 
a very mild 401. But the 401 you intend, pounded on once in a 
while, will thrash that 998 after not too long.

Go ahead and do it anyway...but start building a 727 replacement 
asap. You're gonna need it sooner than you think.
