[BaadAssGremlins] Detail Work Today

We have had cold, damp lousy weather for the last 3-4 days and now we
are having a Nor-Easter today into early tomorrow morning. 1-3 inches of
rain and 20-50 mph winds. At least it is not snow. A good day to stay
inside. Bad weather causes me breathing problems and yesterday it gave
me a real problem. I was however able to paint the plastic console I
modified with SEM. First cleaned it good with plastic prep, then sprayed
it with sand free and then with 3 coats of black and then 3 coats of low
luster clear. All this took with drying time in between coats 2 1/2 -3
hours. I popped in the black vinal padded insert with the Hornet emblem
and it looked beautiful, looks like it came that way from the factory.
Tomorrow I will hot glue it in from the back. My goal was to have a
simple  functional but tastefully done interior that looked like it came
that way from the factory. Today I will make the drawing of the R/W/B
AMC logo that I will have made in vinal at a local truck lettering shop
for the center of the knock off on the Turbine wheels that are on the
car. I hope to start cleaning and painting in between the spokes the
orange body color later this week. I also have the original sill plates
to remove a few dings and dents and polish today while stuck in the
house. Attention to details is the difference between a really nice car
and one that stands out. And when you look at the car that stands out it
just does and most times you can't tell why. My yellow car is not subtle
looking with the flames and stripes, I went for a change of pace with
the orange one. But I will eventually have a rear louver from a 77 AMX
and all the flairs painted the body color on it. No stripes other than
the stock black double factory pin stripe.
