[BaadAssGremlins] Rate MY 401 COMBO

im in the beginning stages of rebuilding my 401. I got the forged 
pistons from speed pro L2380F-040, i will have edelbrock 
heads,headers, either the air gap or possibley a torker, 800CFm 
carb,3000 rpm stall possibley a 232-242 538in 563 ex  anyway will
this 
combo finally get my Gremmy in the 12's?  3:73 posi,, 
  it seams every thing i do to my current 401 just wont make it go 
faster,,, maybe my cam is too big? stall is too little? I cant drive?
my junkyard engine can only do so much. i would just like to get this 
next one right.The car weighs 3280 with me in it.. my current 1/8
mile 
times are about 8.9 sometimes better if i let it sit awhile(too 
boring).

So if anyone wants to chime in or has a similair combo i wouldnt mind 
hearing times and opinions(desktop dyno combo) before i blow the 
other $3000
