Re: [BaadAssGremlins] 70 AMC V8

Bill, a two door Ambassador is a wonderful vehicle, top of the line for AMC
too. If you ever hava had a chance to drive a Ambassador it is really a
solid, smooth and nice ride. As for why it is in a junkyard, this could
probably be said about thousands of AMCs I have seen crushed thru the years
here in Houston, south of you. Some were actually driven to the pick a part,
where they got $46 a ton for scrap price. Other reasons like divorce, city
got on their ass to move it, death, lost job, even have had people tell me
they didn't want to run ads as they didn't want 'undesirables' coming to
their house, so it was easier to donate it to Houston Can Academy, Red
Cross, Women's shelter, or just haul it away.

Find out what you can about the vehicle, as they came with everything from
232-6 cylinders to as you mentioned a 325hp 390V8. I don't think the
crossmember will fit your Gremlin however. As for the trannie that may be in
the Ambassador, that is the weak link in the drivetrain. Still, good luck
either way and see if you can save it.
