"Restoring" a hot wheels car can be like anything else. It depends on what the owner intends to do with it. Some people buy an item as an investment. Others may buy simply because the item is something they like.
If someone wants to invest in an item hoping for it's value to increase, chances are they will not want something thats been restored. These people are very serious collectors and don't mind paying the big prices anitem may demand.
If it is something you want, just to have, it is your choice.
