John,
I changed the idle squirter to a 31 and that helped, but didn't cure. Then My timming jumped and the car wouldn't start. After troubleshooting I discovered my distributor gear stripped! I went to a local jeep guy and he had a set of gears but I needed to know why they stripped. Upon further inspection, the gear was riding too high. I then discovered that there was 2 gaskets under the distributor! The engine is back together now and is running good. Still a slight stumble. I went to pull it outta the garage and it wouldn't move. The new shifter cable melted again! I can't figure out why as it is ziptied away from the heat sources. I have a heavy duty cable on order and will cover it with better shielding.
I also have a coolant leak from not waiting till the silicone dried. So I have to fix that along with the shifter cable.
We went to the track today only to get rained out again.
But on the up side we came apon a bikini car wash and had the race car and truck washed :o)>
