Subject: Camshaft came today! Thanx U guys!

YEAH! FedEx finally found my address and delivered my camshaft! I
went with a Crane Powermax Hydraulic cam. *BIG SMILE*
Rick, I am taking your advice and have soaked the engine bay and
front wheel wells with oven cleaner. Bet that Sodium Hydroxide will
cut some of it off. Nice cleaning tip - thanks!
Brien, thank you for posting all the transmission info. I am going
out to the shed after I type this and get the numbers off the bell
housing to check it, although mine is probably the routine 727 trans since
it came out of a 77 Matador Brougham II. -Lu-

Ok Lu !

That TorqueCommand 727 is a great trans. -
if you plan to run it - go for that B&M 4 extra quart
trans pan.

You can find an Automotive AC condensor core from
a pick & pull - it is the AC radiator they call condensor .

Find one that fits nicely infront of your radiator - use
some rubber spacers to hold it away from your regular
radiator - so as not to transfer heat to your trans. fluid.

You can use Tie Wraps to secure the Trans cooler to
the radiator .

Once you get the AC condensor - measure the size of
the tube O.D. (outside diameter) and contact Earl's Supply
for some braze on ends - get them mounted and install
your Custom Trans Cooler .

As to your Camshaft - before you install it - have the
journals measured - to make certain that they are
correctly sized to your cam bearings .

There was a problem a few years ago - and caused some
damage to freshly built engines .

Measure everything - at least twice - write it down -

compare it against Tech Specs - and if you are not
certain - ASK QUESTIONS !!! There are some
very Talented AMC people available - to help -
for FREE !
