I don't know about the value of the 232 in the 72 but the 904 got to be worth a few bucks. There dosen't seem to be to muchcall for a 232.  Under a 1,000$ is a good price. I paid 500$ for the clean good running Hornet I just bought but I put 1,200$ into it in repairs so far not counting the interior work I have done so far. The biggest chunk being 390$ for 4 new BFG Radial T/A tires and 189$ to have the rear hatch window leak repaired and 180$ for a new exhaust system.

I was the one who talked him into haveing the spring show as he was undecided as the peoplethat hepled him last year were not interested this year. Also the fall show was rained out and had no rain date so I got him to have a rain date for the spring show. AMC steering column is the GM Saginaw along with steering box. The thing that is different is the GM & AMC saginaw's don't use the same keys. My new Hornet came with a GM tumbler since the previous owner bought it at a police auction. I bought an AMC tumbler but found out it was for theGM key and not the AMC specific key so I could not get the ignition key keyed to the doors. Rick sent me an AMC tumbler and I had it and all the rest of the locks keyed alike to my yellow Hornet.

If you got the ignition key unless someone changed somthing the ignition key should fit the doors also. In the Hornets and I assume the same holds true for the Gremlins the ignition key and the door keys are the same and the glove box key and the hatch key are the same. If you don't have a hatch key you can have one made from the glove box tumbler and it should open the hatch. I went through all of this when I did all the locks in the new car. It was easier for me to key both Hornets alike because between me and my son we have 6 cars and we each have a set of keys for each others cars, keying my Hornets the same made for me carring one less set of keys around.
