As a model builder for 47 years I have tried all the so called chrome paint from auto store stuff to model paint for all those years. There is only one the works and that is a model paint called Alclad 11, I use it on my AMC model resto's. I looks 98% like chrome. The problem is you paint it and that's it. If cleaned to much it rubs off, if you clear cote it to keep it from rubbing off it turns out looking like silver paint. The other alternative is send the part to a plastic vacume chrome'r and then mask up the chrome parts and paint the panel like AMC did, a costly deal. I use a silver model paint and clear cote it with a model paint clear. I looks real nice and has held up in my other Hornet for 3-4 years now. "Doc"
