I've told a number of folks if they will be attending a national this summer to keep a sharp eye out for many of the great deals, like a few I was going to buy and lost my information on (I left my notebook at the meet!), but a silver 68 AMX, 343, 4spd for 43200 and a 71 gree/green SC/360 for $3000 would have found a new home, and a 70 AMX on a trailer, 360, AT for $3000 found no buyers at a national, so the best thing about attending these meets is that it is like a AMC car lot and you can inspect the vehicle on the spot and negotiate with the owner. Just cause I got a few bucks dosen't mean I am going to piss it away. I have set aside a budget of 10,000$ for both cars and have already spent 3,000$. I still have the same "Rambler Mentality" that I always have had. It's just when I need or want somthing now I don't have to scrimp and save for weeks or months to buy it. I have lost out on some really good deals price wise because I didn't have the money at the time and when I did the deal was already gotten by someone else. Check S&W Race Cars for a cage. I bought their 8 point for my yellow Hornet and with extra tubeing I bought from them turned it into a 12 point cage of my own design. I believe the original 8 point was 150$ plus shipping. I am waiting to hear from the guy you put me on to about the NOS Hornet fenders. I explaind my situation at the begining of the month and he said he would hold the fenders for me. As soon as he confirms we still have a deal I will send him the money. Thanks again for putting me onto him. I found a gut that builds roundie rounds that will bend up the bar for 5 bucks a bend but I can't find the 1 3/4 X .134 tubing. I may end up having to buy the kit from S&W. I was hoping to get it done on the cheap. .120 wall stuff is all over but I run the risk of it being below the NHRA req. .118 min thickness. SO waddaya think of my frame connectors? I messed up and welded them in passed the leaf spring bolt. Good think I already put the new ones in with the new polly bushings! I had it under me cause it was my first AMC I ever bought. I am having a heck of a time finding a co. local that has the roll bar material I need to build the 5 point for my Gremmie. I found a gut that builds roundie rounds that will bend up the bar for 5 bucks a bend but I can't find the 1 3/4 X .134 tubing. I may end up having to buy the kit from S&W. Davis Nice job Davis, and you should take measurments of your gremlins inside and then give them to a reputable rollbar/cage maker or Competition Engineering or Chassis or Chris Alston and have em make you up a set.Chassis Enginering did my 4 point for under 200$course i went to Jupiter Fl. and picked mine up so it saved me on shipping since i was only 45 minutes away lol Bart Bart ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yahoo!
