Yeah, I know all about the trailor queen thing; having your car period correct, changing things at the show, towing cars to shows, etc. I don't believe in it, but I understand the thinking (ugh).  I just hope the person buying that old tire remembers it is only for looks, not to be used on the road. I wouldn't want that guy driving on those skins to blow, and me right in his path.
The closest I came to having a trailor queen was when I was racing my Gremlin, With 4;56 gears and slicks it was a no-brainer.
The tire industry suggest changing tires after three years use. I do have some tires older than 3 years and I check tire condition everyyear if the tire shows no wear. Those of us with stables can't change every 3 years, but look at your tires close. The DOT code will tell you what week and year the tire is made, and it is right there on the sidewall. I have bought a set of new tires that were already a year old just sitting in the warehouse......Russ
