Re: [AMC-list] Sagging on the driver side



According to the 65 TSM the American springs for that year at the standard rate had .471 inch coil (wire) diameter on both sides.  The heavy duty springs were .491 or .490 (don't remember) coil diameter on both sides.  There was no difference with air conditioning.  My left coil measured roughly .500 but I'll clean the wire and measure more accurately this weekend.  I'll look for the red paint daubs on the coils too, which are supposted to indicate heavy springs.  Like I told Frank, I'll plan to switch them side to side and see if that helps.  The battery is on the left side along with the driver, so that may have made a difference over the years.
