Re: [Amc-list] Concord engine question

I've done the 4.0L swap except for the exhaust so far. (It's in my '84 J10) The wiring needs changing if you don't run a carb (so you can run EFI) You need a different exhaust/intake set up for the 4.0L (I'm doing the Renix head swap on my 4.2L VERY soon! I think my broken head bolt on the back left corner is allowing precious green liquid to escape. I had to add 2 gallons or antifreeze at work yesterday because it was whistling like a kettle after the 5 mile run to get there!)

Not much response to the V8 into the Concord question posted, so how
about this?

What about a Jeep 4.0 in place of the 258. I'm thinking the bolt up
would be the same, but any wiring mods? Or just take the leads in the
Concord to the alternator, starter, pick ups, etc. and such and attach.
Maybe the connectors are different, but it should all run the same
shouldn't it??? Money is tight of course and trying to do my best to
keep it in the driveway.

Blessings,
Richard
