Re: [Amc-list] Rear End Swap

A: I'm STILL looking for an M20 near Seattle for my '82 Spirit, but I guess it'll be swapped out to an XJ D35 soon instead, along with the Eagle wagon front axle I have. (I'm hoping it's 3.07 ratio which is VERY common in '87 XJs)

Nolan,

I think the rear end width for all Hormet, Gremlin, Concord bodies is the same. I have an AMC 20 (V8) Hornet rearend here in Salinas, and a 6-cylinder concord rearend (sans one backing plate and drum). If your friend cannot get that junkyard rear, I would give him the Concord rear. I'd want $200 for the V8 rear.

BTW, a person on the AMC forum was looking for a 73 Hornet power brake booster. I don't know if he found one. He said it was a unique part, so your friend may want to pull it if that Hornet has power brakes.

Regards,
Joe Fulton
