Personal choice.

If it's mint and perfect I'd keep it!

Keep in mind that it is really not a big deal to replace if later on it does need changed.
Heck, I have done it!

The biggest tip to watch is that noone sands to far up under or near the edge!

You don't want rust to get started around the edge!
