Two factors:

(1) Continental lifters list for $92 each. For $6, who cares? For $90,
well...

(2) Airplane guys get real weird about accounting for all missing parts,
lest a fifteen-thousand dollar "clank" leave one wishing for a runway
where there's only trees or swamp.
