Fair enough, but there's nothing here that suggests anything's been
modified from stock, and it'd be weird for a a dealer to do a carb and
manifold swap downwards in '63.

A true rarity, in my experience.

Again, the block is red, and nothing else suggests deviation from stock.

Well, since it's '63, it doesn't appear there's much to be learned from 
the serial/vin - the HT33 conforms to expectations, but doesn't provide
an engine code.  So I'll just have to go with the assumption that this
is the low-compression 327 until something suggests otherwise.

Not even *thinking* about trannies at this point.  Hope I don't have to in
the short term.
