Re: [Amc-list] Renault anyone?

Yepper!
One thing I noticed the first time I drove our 08 Altima, which I love, is it drives EXACTLY like the Monaco/Premier platform! I did not drive it at all before purchase, I told her this time she got cartblanche. I would not interfere other than to vetoe a true problem vehicle of some sort if I saw it.

The 08 Altma has the real sweat tight just slightly heavy steering the Premier has on the highway. A little to stiff for most gramma types, but the kind us driver types love!

I also mentioned to Tom offlist, The CVT trans is sweet too! I alwasy hated the auto matics tendancy to shift too often and when I did not want it too. That increased with OD units, the CVT does not have any ratios preset and does not do it at all. It even seems to go to the right ratio at the right time too! Way smooth. Not a race car trans, unless you pull it over to the autostick gates, then it is fun time as it has a true ratchet shift and 6 preset forward rations! If I was a kid I'd be in heaven!

They did a nice job on this thing.

Oh, the one set of renault tools I plan on putting up on ebay from the pile is a set of CV boot expanders!
If you've every tried to wrestle a cv boot over the tripod area of an renault axle, you'll know this comes in way handy!
