Re: [Amc-list] Project

Don,

You poor traitorous bastard..............
going over to the dark side right after completing a fine AMX build.
Just kidding.
I think you're talking about the front sub frame, aren't you?
It bolts under the half unibody in about four spots, and supports everything
up front.
IIRC, that sub frame is the same as 67 to 74 or so Camaros, Pontiac Sprints
and Firebirds too.
You might get lucky and find something laying around. If you look in your
area or my area, you'll be looking
at piles of rusty crap. I think a couple of companies make aftermarket sub
frame and suspension kits that fit
that car. You'd think there would be something useable laying about, as
there were millions of those cars
built.

AMC content.
Don bought an upholstered center console for a Javelin from me about a month
or so ago. It was rough. He completely re-did the
darn thing and sent me some pictures. I wish I was that good with the sewing
machine or even had one that I could learn on.

I packed the White 70 Javelin away for the winter, I even put winter wheels
and tires on and brought the good wheels and tires into the house for safe
keeping. I pulled the plugs and hosed down the engine with Sea Foam. So now
I'm planning a few winter projects. First one is to get all the stuff
figured out to install the A/C in the White Javelin. Then fix up the extra
two 70 grilles I have. Both have a couple tabs missing and some broken grate
pieces (but not gone pieces). I think I can restore the darn things with
what I've learned fixing dash over lays. Which reminds me of the other
winter project. Restoring the dash out of the green Javelin. This dash
actually is in pretty good shape except for a long crack by the glove box.
Easily fixable using TENAX-7R plastic welder from the hobby shop. This stuff
wicks it's way into plastic joining surfaces and bonds like crazy, very
strong. Do a google search for it and read how happy people are with the way
it works. It's gonna be a long winter............

Armand

the clip.
