It's even more unpleasant when your wedding ring gets caught between jumper cables on two 8D batteries just as your eldest child hits the starter switch on a 6V71 Detroit! Ring went white hot in an instant and my finger has a permanent mark even though I haven't been able to wear my ring for almost 7 years.

Oh, note to novices, not you Tom, you know better, I think, uh maybe...
Remove ALL metallic objects from fingers, wrists and your three elbows!
Having any thing metal, especially nice highly conductive gold come in contact with hot wiring behind the dash can be very unpleasant!!!
