[Amc-list] The Green Weenie update or what to do after dark

Some where a long long time ago some one mentioned that AMC (and other
manufacturers too) weren't afraid to paint their plastic parts and others
for that matter.....
I found several interior pieces that were red under black. Car has a black
interior.
NO build sheet possible on this one. Dam mice chewed up anything paper in
the car., and the stuffing is pulled out of everything and dispersed
throughout the car for nesting materials. So far no live mice.
I think the mice did additional damage to the car body by collecting
absorbent material in strategic locations and then that material absorbed
water and caused more RUST! Both sides of the rocker are pretty much toast
easily observed from the inside of the car.
Underneath the car it isn't quite so bad. Some floor pans are gone,
interestingly it's the one under the back seat closet to the drivers side
quarter panel.
Oh well, I got most of the upholstery out, headliners out and trashed, rear
carpet out and trash, all the seats look like they are candidates for the
burn pile and then maybe recycle the left over steel. Dang it I was hoping
to get a good spring from one of the buckets to replace a broken one,
doesn't look like that will happen.
Removed the heater blower motor and the little thingy that looks like a
resistor in a cage, any body know what the function of that is??  Also the
blower motor has a tube going out of the motor into where the squirrel cage
is. Any one know why the tube is there?? Remember this is an A/C equipped
car and all that stuff is very different that what I'm used to seeing on the
Frost White Javelin.
I noticed a tube running from the A/C coil under the dash to out the top of
the transmission tunnel. Not sure I like that...........
don't really want water dumping onto my nice T5. What should I do there
route it around and underneath??? Gonna have to put a hole in the
transmission tunnel to, I hope the Frost White Javelin doesn't bleed when I
do that...... never drilled a hole in the car.......
Oh one last thing, I crawled my fat ass under the car and contorted my neck
until I could see the magic numbers cast into the side of the engine
block................................3......6.......0  291C heads here we
come...........I now have four of those heads so with any luck I should be
able to get two good heads or with some fantastic luck maybe all four will
be good!!!
Tomorrow evening I'm going to go at the dash and get as far as possible on
removing it....
I'm gonna sleep good tonight because I got a lot done in the two hours after
supper......and wore my tired body down.

to look for a build sheet...under the seats, front and back, in the springs
of the seat back in bucket seats, behind a door panel, over the glove box,
and even under the carpet or headliner if take the car apart.
