The rear of the transmission locates the torque tube axle assembly, and takes ALL of the fore and aft force (braking and accell). This transmits to the trans crossmember, which transmits to the sills via the little-known and rarely maintained thrust bushings. Even I didn't know I had any until they went totally rotten 1 years ago. The truss rods run from the wheel end of the axle tubes (riveted to a plate) and attach to a seat welded onto the very front of the torque tube itself, with a big fine-thread bolt. Oh look, I remembered to change the subject line. I never remember that! _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
