Re: [Amc-list] Disc Brake set-ups for 69 Javelins?

" To: "AMC/Rambler owners, drivers and fans." <amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx>
"
" The steering stop mounts to the back side of the steering
" knuckle. Everything outboard of the knuckle is the same between
" Pacers and everything else, and will interchange. Note that 1975/76
" got the "big Bendix" brakes while later years got other types. For
" Pacer owners, it appears that the late rotors will fit the big Bendix
" setup, and are much less expensive. I haven't tried it yet, but have
" a set that I plan to try.

my '65 american project car had '76 pacer disks on it. i never got it
finished enough to drive it, but they bolted up fine. afaik the
spindles, caliper brackets, etc were the same as other amcs.

-some- late rotors fit the big bendix spindles -- the '77-8 small
bendix setup used the same calipers as '79-'81 but the big bearing
spindles. afaik the rotors are not as thick as the big bendix ones.

btw the late small bearing rotor fits '79-'83, with both the bendix
and delco calipers. i think if you swapped spindles it'd fit '77-8
too.
