Tom, these guys rebuilt my T-96 back in 1998 with all new parts, and it was a rare (AMC only for two years) T-96J! They may be able to find the parts if Northwest can't. Specializing in manual transmissions helps a lot! http://www.alltransparts.com/

Called Northwest Transmissions. They're looking for a new first
gear slider for me now. I described the cluster gear and they
said "run it some more". Fine by me!

They may not even be able to get a new first gear for me; this
is an old trans, the major replacement part, and they're almost
unavailable. They might have a like-new used, fine by me.
