Booster doesn't matter -- all 199/232/258 fuel pumps interchange. So a later model without the booster is fine to run. I even ran one in a 195.6 OHV (will also fit the L-head) -- used an electric wiper motor. --------------------- Date: Wed, 13 Feb 2008 21:54:20 -0500 From: R MORGAN <edatlarge@xxxxxxxxxxx> Matt Haas, Thanks for your reply. Just so there is no confusion to what I am trying to convert.... I'm staying with the old-fashioned mechanical fuel pump. Only this time it doesn't have the vacuum booster (upper stage) for vacuum wipers. I no longer need the booster. (I plugged the wiper output port years ago). The new fuel pump has the replaceable filter built in to the housing -- just like the original. It sounds like your pump is set up like mine. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Motors Cars" Magazine (AMC) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AMC.html (free download available!) _______________________________________________ Amc-list mailing list Amc-list@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://splatter.wps.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/amc-list
