[Amc-list] Disposing of gas, oil, brake fluid and coolant

I called my local recycling center for info on how to dispose of fluids. They sent me over to the EPA. They sent me to a local representative. I was impressed about how quickly I got the right person!

So, what's the scoop in Georgia?
Per the rep - just let the old gas evaporate. Put it in a large disposal pan (the turkey cooking kind!) and let it evaporate. The idea is to increase the surface area so it will evaporate quickly.

Old motor oil? Off to any place you buy oil.

Old brake fluid? Mix it in with the oil (same with penetrating oils like that snazzy Kroil, PB Blaster and Marvel Mystery Oil)

Coolant? Preferred method is to bring it in to a garage where they know you. Reason is - used oil gets sold, but garages have to pay by weight to get rid of coolant. Acceptable alternative if you are on sewer lines is to mix it with water and pour it down the drain. The city's filtration system will take care of it.

Not saying these rules are the same in your area - and make sure to check your local regulations - but it seemed pretty simple here.
