Ahh... the gasket I had was not one of those, thankfully. I remember those 
things! The one I had was not one of the blue-coated sealing types but it 
was a modern flat solid-composite or whatever.

Did 195.6 OHVs come with those, or did Nash erm AMC simply state the old 
process every year?

In fact, I will do that... I guess I was thinking that the re-torque thing 
was in there for a reason OTHER than headgasket construction reasons. If 
there's no reason to believe this motor has a particular problem with bolt 
stretching/head shifting etc then Felpro would know. I think I still have 
the box of gaskets so I can compare with the "modern' part number Joe gave 
me and call 'em and ask.
