RE:Javelin won't start

I drove my 69 base 232 Javelin to the car wash this afternoon and
gave it a good cleaning including the engine. I hosed the engine off
with the high pressure was after disconnecting the spark plug wrings
and covering up the distributor. When I got done the car would not
start. After waiting a couple hours then I caught a right home with
the local High school vice principal who was washing his car in the
next bay. I got my truck and hooked it up and when loaded up the car.
Even 4 or 5 hours after I washed the engine off the car still won't
start. I've double and triple checked the distributor wring and that
seems to be right. The engine turning over and it's getting gas. In
fact I think I flooded it out too on top of everything else. Right
now I'm think it's more then likely the starter relay and as fortune
would have it . I have a new spare. IT may start tomorrow morning
with no problem. We'll see. Any one have any other ideas on this.
Right now I'm thinking the starter relay grounded out on the starter
circuit to the distributor, as that is some thing I did cover up and
it may be the original factory part. I not sure. I know I've not
changed it. Pretty much every thing else got changed to newer
replacement parts or rebuilt. The voltage regulator I know for sure
is original and the starter relay is old. I know a lot of dealer use
to run a wire from one terminal of the starter relay to the back of
the starter relay as the relay has to be grounded and this was always
a problem with AMCs. ANY Other ideas??????? Thanks mramc@xxxxxxxxxxx
No I don't know it all that's why I have file cabinets. I can look it up.
