[Amc-list] Subject: Pressing Hubs

You have to drive or press the studs out first. I used a BFH for that. The hub is tight on the center of the drum, but I knocked that off too. I put the edges of the drum up on wood blocks and put a piece of corrugated cardboard under the hub for a little cushioning when it popped out. A wood block was used to drive the hub out. There is a good possibility of warping the drum by driving or pressing it off the hub. The assumption was it wouldn't be pressed off unless being replaced anyway.

Does anyone have any tips for pressing the hubs out of
the front brake drums on a 65 Rambler American? Do
you have to heat the drums?
