I don't got no steenkin IPOD, but my mp3 player plugs into the aux port on the back of my steenkin SONY head unit in my Rambler! 
I can then turn it on random and play about 4gigs of music for a very long time without getting bored.
No monthly fees and I can listen to complete albums if I want !

I bought the 4 gig mp3 player off a broke student for $40.00 !

2 10" subs behind the rear seat in single sealed box
2 8" subs in the front doors
2 older radio shack 3 ways on the rear deck
2 4.5" 2 ways mounted above the subs in the front doors.

Everything but the head unit was bought on Rambler mentality!
