it apparently is for the 2.7, which explicitly says something like
5w30 -only-.  older engines like the 4.0 or our amcs, that's another
story.

that's if the bearings in question -have- extra clearance.  the 2.7's
apparently do not.

i ran 15w40 in my american one winter here [eastern ma] and noticed
slower cranking in the frosty teens-temps mornings than with my usual
10w30.
