[Amc-list] Mobil 1 'Delvac' - CI 4 'Plus' -

Mobil 1 15W-50 has been re-released with "normal" levels of zinc in it, from what I've read (see http://www.mobil1.com/USA-English/MotorOil/Oils/Mobil_1_15W-50_.aspx). But, that's way too thick of an oil for his 2.7v6. I might switch my XJ to it next time around, it runs Mobil1 0W-40 now.

GM EOS has a heavy dose of ZDDP. Plain old STP does too, but only a very modest amount.

This Black Jug of 'Delvac' is 15-40 Wt - 
CI-4 'Plus' - SM - SI rated and came in
just under $9.00 for the Gallon so 
$2.25 a quart complete with the no 
longer in print 'ZDDP' anti wear package.

15-40 isn't bad - right ?  I mean, 
..... 45min. North of NYC isn't 
exactly 'Springtime in Anchorage'......


with 175K on the Cherokee clock  - if it's
'slo to flo' - the extra clearance in the
bearings might take up the slack - conceptually...;)
