Your probably hit the nail on the head #1, and #2 is true also. It's a damn
nice car under that dirt and mess!

Personally I'd get the chassis nice (brakes, suspension, motor, trans) then
you can pick at the rest, should you not have the $$$$age for an all out
frontal assault. Fixing brakes etc gets you down low and dirty with the 
thing
for a good evaluation, and being able to drive it safely is inducement to
keep at it.

Your right Tom- Being 28 and a 7 month old in house it will make it tough to 
have $5grand to toss at my car. also time is  factor. so it it'll be $100 at 
a time and manybe 2 hours a week and if i am really good when bonus time 
comes around i might toss $1,000 at some seats and interior.

luckly i have my wife is on board. She is definatly warming up to the idea 
of spending our sunday afternoons driving to car shows.

plus is there anything better then crusing in the fall? the leaves turning 
and the cool air in the window. Nothing to worry about except enjoying a 
nice sunday drive.

One of my fondest memories with sunday cruses are hopping my my dad's boat 
of a convertable with my brother and sister and hitting the gravel roads of 
central Iowa. we would all be on the look out for asperigus (i know i 
butchered the spelling). whe we would find a patch my dad would jump out of 
the car and pull it from someones prize garden or ditch. mom of course was 
always the look out person. we would then head home and cook it and enjoy 
the stories of the day.

like i said earlier it runs and the clutch seems to work. so we just need to 
be working on the stopping. i haven't looked closely at the break lines but 
it is safe to say it will need at least new lines, rebuild on the master 
cylinder and a strong look at the drums and shoes. Basicly it wouldn't hurt 
to look in to the conversion to disc breakes.

Anyone price these lately is this a $200, $500 or $1,000 type job. Has 
anyone taken their care to any discount break places and found some savings 
there?

it will be fun to work on and can't wait to get it in the Garage.
