i don't know much more, but afaik they're much newer, of the t56
generation though i don't know if the two share anything.  the t45 may
well be stronger than the t5 but i'm pretty sure it doesn't share bolt
pattern and maybe not even input shaft length.

i found a page at tremec's web site that had good comparative data,
but it was years ago and they've redone their site at least once
since.  [tremec now owns borg warner's tranny business]
