It's going to go into a Spirit, purely to see if I can turn one " of those cars into a 30mpg city car. I figure if this motor can drag " a 4019-lb. Dakota's butt around and still get 21 to 23 mpg city, in a " Spirit, which weighs +- 1200 lbs less (2970 w/six) and has better " aerodynamics, it might be a great combo for MPG . " " Any tips on what externals I'll need to do it? you might want to retard the cam. they did something to move the 4's torque peak almost 1000rpm higher than the 6's, and without the weight to drag around i'd think you want peak efficiency to be at a lower rpm. if you got it from a dak it'll have an ax15, plenty beefy for the four. it still has trucky ratios - 3.83:1 1st, 0.83:1 5th. an alternative way you could've gone is either an amc/jeep 2.5/t5 bell or '95-6 chevy s10 2.8 bell and mustang 5.0 t5. 1st is still plenty deep at 3.35:1 on the '86-'93 boxes; 5th is 0.68, with an 0.72 set available from '94-7 'stang 3.8 t5s. you wouldn't have got such a bargain though. it should have a hydraulic clutch, so you may want to look for an eagle to rob parts from. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay _________________________________________________________________Picture this ? share your photos and you could win big! http://www.GETREALPhotoContest.com?ocid=TXT_TAGHM&loc=us
