Can you give me a few likely model names? I'll then go RTFM and
locate a Haynes manual or two. The technology doesn't scare me,
I just can't find it!

I'm almost embarrassed to say how little I know of cars after
1975. I've seen a V6 under a hood maybe 3 times in my life. I
certainly couldn't identify one by eye (I mean types or even
brands of V6's). "They all look alike to me".

I have never owned an American car other than AMC, ever, except a
'55 Champion pickup (Accord as daily driver, once). Seriously.
Drivers license since 1972. Drove many rentals, never look
under the hood. No interest in high-tech autos.

I can fix anyone's old car regardless of brand, I can fix
late-model crap on first principles, but have never used the
OBD-style diag stuff.

Post-war, I can even ID by design lines close enough, pre-war
I at least know what the high points are, but post-75 I can't
tell one from another!
