Re: [Amc-list] Trademarks

Well, now that you mention it VW is one vehicle I would be less likely to buy than another GM product!
Oh, My Brother in law bought an Olds Alero last year they made them. Loaded up nice car.
It is a big piece of crap!!! Everytime I see hime he is asking questions about check engine lights-brakes you name it. It's only just outside the warranty. The auto transmission seeps fluid form all it's seals, it's $1,000 repair and to make it worse he has to take it in to the dealer to have the fluid checked because there is NO DIPSTICK! You have to pull a plug or some such thing and it has to be level on a rack to check properly!
  He's not much happier with his Silverado either.
He says his next vehicles will be Toyota,
My mother in law traded her last Olds in at 45,000 miles because the transmission would slip at times. It was out of warranty and had been well maintained. Her Buick now has 50,000 miles on it and she is talking trade because she doesn't think it is safe to keep a GM over 50,000 miles! Now that's customer satisfaction!
  My wife's Altima, that I'll admit I didn't want to buy, is sitting outside my office, it is now is 9 years old and has 127,000 virtually trouble free miles. Never been on a hook or a flatbed. It has had nothing but struts/belts/hoses/tuneups/tires/brakes/ etc;

  It's been mentioned by John Elle about chrysler selling the bum trans in his van all those years.
GM did the same with the 4.3 V-6. The engine rattle was diagnosed soon after its redesign in 92 or 93. I bought one in 2001 with the same rattle and was promised a repair "when available" no matter when. When they finally released the repair in 2004 or 05 and I tried to have it fixed I was told, "sorry, your out of warranty"!!!
  It's not so much I think all GM's are junk as the way I personally was treated by both corporate and dealers.
I don't think I need to invite them to treat me that way again.
  Oh, yeah, Lemon laws are a joke. Unless the car doesn't move on a regular basis you will get squat!!!
