You mean the BLue GUys were there? Cool! They're
great percussionists aren't they? Just Kidding!

Thanks for the upgrade on Speed Week. I am hoping to
hit one of the TX full blast runs at some point in the
next couple of years!

"All in all a good week. There were all income
classes
of owners represented, from blue color guys with
family and friends acting as crew and with cars on
open trailers, to one British knight with a entourage
of approximately twenty employees in matching uniforms
supported by a huge contingent of support vehicles
including one helicopter and an ultralight airplane
taking photos."

Have a great week,

Jesse

both the t-14 and t-15 would fit the engine side but of course were
never made in tt versions, so you'd have to find one of the rare o/d
versions so you could swap your od-tt adapter parts on, but they'd
probably end up the wrong length...

if you wanted to try making an adapter, you could start with a car
t-14 or t-15. put a 4wd tailshaft housing on it and make the adapter
bolt to it on one side, the tt on the other.

Did AMC put build sheets in the car?

FYI, Ford has a company(Marti), that Ford owners can use to get a detailed history on their vehicle.
Where would the AMC historical database be?
Wouldn't you like to have your car's history in a detailed report?

How would I determine how many mellow yellow AMX's were produced out of 4980?

Build sheets were left in a car not placed in a car.
This is the reason some cars have them and some don't
and not all are in the same place. As the car came
down the line the "build sheet" accompanied certain
parts. Soemtimes the worker just left the sheet in
the car, other times he didn't. Sometimes the sheet
came attached to certain parts like the gas tank
(check on top), the seats (check under the springs),
the glove box (check on top), and under the carpet to
name a few. Som,e have found them in the doors behind
the door panel, and up, in the headliner. Hope this
helps.

Subject: Need some Gremlin Parts

Hello Eddie,

I live in the Woodlands and proudly own a 1972 Gremlin that I drive, and a 1978 Gremlin for parts. The 1972 has front drum brakes and does not stop well. The 1978 has front discs. I hope to swap the whole front suspension out of the 1978, clean it up, and install it on the 1972.

This brings me to the point of the this e-mail. I'm looking for a source for polyurethane bushings etc for the control arms and all of the "soft" suspension parts that bolt under that Gremlin. There seems to be quite a number and I'll put all new stuff in while it is apart. Do you sell or have a vendor that sells all of those components? I'll either buy a "kit" or individual parts - whatever you recommend.

I appreciate any information you can give me.

Best Regards,

Larry L. Schmidt

On both those 65 Rambler Ambassador convertibles on ebay, I got back a nice
email from both sellers. I am still confused as to what makes a regular
production car a prototype. One mentioned the build sheet. But build sheets
were printed well in advance of models. For instance here is a 71 AMX build
sheet:

http://www.planethoustonamx.com/parts/71amxbuildsheet.JPG

It don't make it a 69 prototype anything, it still makes it one of 2054 made
in 1971.

So while there is a blog on there, which is neat, I am still either stumped
or missing something?
