to 260/727 tranny guy i just went through this myself and i had a tranny out of  a two wheel drive jeep 1978 the  tranny has to completely come apart and a new outp;ut shaft  and tail shaft housing have to be installed ccost me 400.00 bucks plus you need 727 slip yoke also speedo adapter and kickdown linkage very hard to find i have found mine you have to make trans lines not hard any other questions let me know i have 360/727 amc spirit motor and tranny from 78 jeep to 1983 spirit quick little car  jeff
