Any suggestions for removing sound deadening material?

I started in on the bad quarter panel on my wagon yesterday and I need to
remove the sound deadening material that's sprayed on the inside of the
quarter panel. Due to the platform that was put in to provide a place for
the spare and the lip at the top for the plastic side panels, there isn't
really a lot of room to get in there with grinders and such. I've used a
propane torch in the past to get this stuff off but I don't want to have to
remove the side window and strip the paint right now if I can avoid it.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove this stuff? I've thought about
Eastwood's Undergone but it says it's for soft coatings (i.e., plain
undercoating) and this stuff is rock hard.
Thanks,
Matt
