195/75R15 tires are very close to the original size. you can get by running 70 series and only lose a couple miles an hour speedo accuracy. The really wide whitewalls were 1950s. By 1960 narrower whitewalls were "in", but not the real narrow 1" ones you still find fairly common now. 2" or so should be period for 1960. Look for old photos of early 60s cars -- any -- not just Ramblers.
